Mango PR is Appointed UK & North America PR Agency by Wa Ale Island Resort
Mango PR has been appointed by Wa Ale Island Resort to handle its PR and communications within the UK & North America markets. This intimate and luxurious island retreat is privately-owned by Christopher and Farina Kingsley. It is a unique eco-tourism project on the island of Wa Ale in the Lampi Marine National Park which sits in a beautiful protected cove, overlooking a pristine beach and majestic rock formations. Guests can enjoy the stunning accommodations of the property which is comprised of eleven Tent Beach Villas and two Treetop Villas, on a full-board basis, in the knowledge that their stay is helping to directly drive and grow conservation and local community initiatives led by The Lampi Foundation, making a getaway at Wa Ale the ultimate experience in responsible luxury.
Having opened its doors in October 2018, Wa Ale invites guests to explore the natural beauty of the Myeik Archipelago within a luxury camp that encourages responsible and sustainable care for the environment. As direct partners to the Lampi Foundation, which helps fund social welfare and conservation projects in the region, Wa Ale Island Resort has pledged a commitment to preserve and protect the Lampi Marine National Park under the guidance of the Myanmar government with the intention to set a precedent for future tourism projects in the Myeik Archipelago. As such, a percentage of both net profits from tourism, and room revenues is designated to the Lampi Foundation each year, allowing guests to give back merely by booking a stay. While staying at Wa Ale, guests are encouraged to visit the Lampi Marine National Park to learn exactly where funds are going and allow guests to witness ongoing projects in real time, including sea turtle conservation, coral protection, social welfare projects and meet those benefiting from local employment opportunities.
Set within the 9,000-acre island of Wa Ale, the resort is 55 nautical miles from the town of Kawthaung on the mainland of Southern Myanmar, and accessible only by a high-speed transport boat. Luxury private accommodations line a one-kilometer beach: eleven state of the art tents with unobstructed ocean views able to house two adults and two children, and two treetop villas which are situated in the canopy of trees, perfect for a couple. All of Wa Ale’s structures were constructed with reclaimed materials and alternative sources of energy are used to power the resort, proof that sustainability lies at the resort’s heart from the ground up.
During their stay, guests can explore two private beaches: Turtle Beach, a protected nesting area where sea turtles lay eggs year-round, and Honeymoon Beach, another long stretch of white sand beach, both with clear, calm waters, for guests to relax and indulge in total privacy. For the adventure traveler, with a love of exploring unchartered aquatic and jungle habitats, there are plenty of exciting activities including trekking through tropical forests, kayaking through mangroves, and diving in the spectacular reefs and caves to name a few. Keen wildlife spotters will be spoilt for sightings with Wa Ale’s multitude of indigenous land, air, and marine life, including over 200 bird species and 20 mammal species active on Wa Ale; including, pythons, hornbills, monkeys, and giant manta rays.
Served throughout the day at The Main Pavilion’s Restaurant and River Café and Bar are unique and sustainable gastronomic dishes, combining a healthy blend of Asian and Mediterranean inspired recipes. The chefs use organic produce from Wa Ale’s own garden and supplement these with ingredients from local community farms and sustainable fresh seafood caught daily from the Archipelago. Creative and personalised menus change daily for guests to indulged in the wide variety of dishes and flavours the island has to offer.
Mango PR will be responsible for executing a creative campaign, to build awareness and understanding of the brand and its unique offering in the marketplace across UK and North America. Of the appointment, Mango PR Director and Co-Founder Sarah Curra commented, “We are delighted to have been appointed by Wa Ale. The resort is so much more than a hotel – it’s an eco-tourism project to the very core, and with responsible luxury really taking hold of the hospitality and hotel industry, Wa Ale sits at the forefront of this as a shining of example of how to execute this. Our campaign is designed to enhance Wa Ale’s brand ethos and bring them to the attention of the next generation of guests.”
